Well the wait has begun.
I do not think things could have gone or been better. Russia is truly a magnificent place as much as we have become biased. The people we encountered were caring, helpful, patient and respectful. The scenery not unlike Canada nor the weather. It is a vast country and a proud people, you could hear it in the way they speak and the manner in which they dealt with us. There is no question that we will make a return trip a priority when Yulia is older.
Getting there is challenging however outside of Moscow it is a reasonable place to stay. Dinner for two with wine about $40.00. Beer $2-$3 depending on brand, what more could you ask for?
A few thank you's are required.
Firstly Inge: From the moment Kaelan arrived at St. John you have been a tower of friendship. Helping when her adjustment was hard and as Kaelan's and Monique's friendship has grown so has ours. Thank you for carting our girl to swimming and Tae Kwon Do. You have a very large capacity for caring and it is most appreciated.
Monique: Thank you for being such a great friend and sharing your time with Kaelan this past week. I forgive you for calling me the ugly man! Well, almost.
Jenn: Your caring is infectious and it has made Kids Club an amazing place for the children. Thank you for being part of our team and looking after Kaelan and dropping her off. You are a blessing to all at Kids Club.
Elaine and George: Knowing that we have you to lean on makes things so much easier than you can imagine. Kaelan loves you so and knowing you treat her as your own when we are not here provided us the strength that we needed last week. We love you both dearly.
Declan, Kiera and Anya: How lucky we all are, to have you in our lives. Thank you for putting up with Kaelan all week.
And to all the other family and friends who gave us love and encouragement this week, thank you. It meant a great deal knowing the support we had.
Our journey is not over and we are anxious to get to trip 2. We will be tackling Yulia's room and preparing our home for a 12 month old little girl.
While the blog will go cold for a while it will heat up as we get close to trip 2.
